Gardner G rove Baptist Church Augusta, Georgia Reverend Rufus Copeland, Pastor, Officiating btfcuarg Mr. Melvin Hurdle, Jr., was born on October 9,1963 in Union Dale County, Long Island, New York, to Mr. Melvin Hurdle, Sr. of New York and the late Ms. Frances Louise Brown. He entered into rest on Saturday, July 20, 2002, at the Medical College of Georgia. He was employed by Carole Fabrics for six years. He leaves to mourn his loss and to cherish his memories a devoted wife, of nine years, Mrs. Cassandra (Sandy) McGruder Hurdle; one daughter, Shalita Hurdle; one son, Carrington Blake Hurdle; two step children, La'Kisha Henderson and Christian McGruder; father, Melvin Hurdle, Sr., Rockville Center, New York; one sister, Annette Alava, Tennessee; grandmother, Annie Hurdle, New York; one aunt, Elizabeth Germany, Augusta, Georgia; five uncles, Kelvin Hurdle, Caleen, Texas; Charles Hurdle and Colby Hurdle, both of Freeport, New York, Bernard Brown and Steven Brown, both of Long Island, New York; moth er-in-law, Emma McGruder; two sisters-in-law, Michelle (Albert) Scurry and Tonya McGruder; three brothers-in-law, Ricky (Carletta) McGruder, Charles McGruder and Eric McGruder all of Augusta; a special friend, Debra Murray; and a host of nieces and nephews.
