Mae Frances Howard, entered into rest March 15, 1999, at the Walter Reed Medical Center, in Washington, DC. She was the daughter o f the late Henry Tanksley and the late Helen T. Walton. Sis. Howard was born fifty-seven years ago, the oldest o f seven children, in Augusta, Georgia. As a young girl she was obedient, loving, industrious and God-fearing. Frances was eager to learn o f Christ, and accepted Him as her personal Lord and Savior during her adolescence. Her baptism was administered at the Thankful Baptist Church, under the leadership o f Rev. N. T. Young, Sr. She later join ed the Servants o f God Baptist Church, under the leadership o f Rev. Steven K. Boler. Frances was a great listener, she enjoyed good down home preaching, singing and praying. She often expressed her pleasure to those o f us who chatted with her after service. She was past president o f the Senior Mission, member o f the Usher Board and a member o f Prayer Services and Bible Studies. Frances often said, "What God Has For Me, It Is For Me. " She received her education in Richmond County, she also attended Augusta Tech and Luvenia's School o f Cosmetology. She was the owner and operator o f Stacie's Beauty Shop. Frances was a member o f Smooth Ashlar Order o f The Eastern Stars, Prince o f Peace OES #51, Past Most Ancient Matron o f Binns, Delight Court #660, Cook Council Crusader #7, Hayes Court Amarath, Daughters o f Isis Arabia Court #2, Past Oriental Guides, Supervisor fo r the White Youth Department and Financial Secretary fo r the Grand Crusader in the State o f Georgia. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Lorenzo Howard. To this union five children were born. It was fo r them she labored, it was fo r them she lived. Her parenting fo r these children surely taught them a rule which is still golden in 1999. "Honor thy Father and thy Mother, that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord Thy God giveth thee. " Through her many years o f ill health, her children demonstrated the love that God required.
