FUNERAL SERVICES Mat MISS SYLVIA GAIL HENLEY "The light that shone in her eyes will never be forgotten" Tuesday, January 7, 1975 4:00 P. M. THANKFUL BAPTIST CHURCH AUGUSTA, GEORGIA ** OBITUARY ** When the young is called, perhaps they are favored. They are choosen as a flower rare in the "City so Fair." So, we like to think of our Sylvia, a bit of sunshine to us here, but a ray of sunlight there. She came to join us on February 6, 1954, we named her Sylvia Gail. We watched her grow and develop through the years and enjoyed with her the pleasures of life. , She liked school, church, Sunday School and all things girls enjoy in the growing-up process. She was converted, baptized, and learned to play the piano well enough to play for the Junior division of the Sun day School. She sang with the Young Adult Choir and participated in all youth activities of the church. Sylvia had many gifts, for which we are thankful to have shared. We feel that she was best in oral and written expressions. She wrote many compositions, tributes, and verses that will keep her ever alive and with us. We know that if we could find a verse that Sylvia had written for a time like this, it would be like this one written by Helen Steiner Rice: . , ,,, When I must leave you for a little while - . Please do not grieve and shed wild tears And hug your sorrow to you through the years. But start out bravely with a gallant smile : And for my sake and in my name . , : Live on and do all things the same Feed not your loneliness on empty days But fill each waking hour in useful ways Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near And never, never be afraid to die For I am waiting for you in the sky. . .-*.-- Goodnight, Sylvia, Mother and Father ------- Mary and Clifford Henley, Sr. Sisters --------------------- Lois and Sara Jean Henley Brother ----------------------- Clifford Henley, Jr. Grandparents ----- Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Charles Wilburn,Sr. Mr. & Mrs. David Henley, Sr. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, other relatives and friends ** ORDER OF SERVICE ** PROCESSIONAL ; PRAYER ,-;.'
