Funeral Services for Henry S. Heard Shady Grove Baptist Church Tignall, Georgia Thursday, December 10, 1981 2:30 oclock P.M. Rev. William Evans, Pastor Officiating Obituary Deacon Henry Heard was born on November 9, 1909, in Wilkes County, Georgia, to the late Jack and Lizzie Heard. At an early age, he joined the Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was a very active Christian worker. He served as superintendent of the Sunday School and chairman of the Deacon Board. He also served as secretary of the Wilkes, Elbert, Lincoln Sunday School Union, Presider of Flint Hill Lodge No. 22, president of the 4th District Singing Convention, Assistant Secretary of the Freewill Missionary Baptist Ministers, Deacons and Laymen, and Grand Presider of S and D of M.P.O, Grand Presider of Good Samaritan Grand Lodge. He was also a licensed funeral director of the State of Georgia. His earthly labor ended on Sunday, December 6, 1981. His survivors are his wife, Jessie Mae Heard; one son, Henry Heard, Jr., of Tignall, Ga.; two daughters, Lizzie M. Heard, Fort Valley, Ga., and Lou Ella Williams, Jesup, Ga.; one grandson, Arthur Williams Jr., Bob Jones University, Greenville, S.C.; five sisters, Jannie Mae Paradise and Ethel Cade of Washington, Ga., Eldora Hill, Gainesville, Ga., Ronnie Hill and Cornelia Anderson, Cleveland, Ohio; two aunts, Hattie Hill of Tignall, Ga., and Rosa Neubia of Greenville, S.C.; three brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
