Andrews, Officiating Sendia Hawes was born March 1, 1917 in Danburg, Georgia to the late King and Laura Mathis. At an early age she joined St. John Baptist Church in Danburg, Georgia. She and Willie C. Hawes were married January 21, 1936. They moved to Augusta, Georgia in the late 1940 s, where she became a housewife andfull-time mother. During this union she reared thirteen children and one grandchild. Her loving memory will be cherished by her sons; Willie James (Mary) Hawes, Deaves (Leola) Hawes, Marvin Hawes, daughters; Ode B. Webb, Carolyn H. Lee, Edna Hawes, Juanita Hawes, Norma J. (James) Prince, Flora Hawes and Mary Louise Hawes, grandchildren; Antonia Chapman, Trade Hawes, Orlando McCord, Lorenzo Todd McCord, Mark McKie, Stephanie Hawes, Marcel Hawes, James Prince Jr., Melanie Hawes, Amber Barron, Angel Prince and one adopted grandchild; Raymond Thompkins, Jr., great grand children; Kieran McCord, Bryce Prince and Charles Barron, sister; Lizzie Rucker, brothers and sisters-in-law; Andrew Hawes, Otis Hawes, Rebecca Harris, Lena Thomas, Stella Nunnally, Janie Rickerson, Sarah Hester and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
