Cjimmie (Hammoncfs, son of Mary Emma Key 
Hammonds and the late Willie Hammonds, Sr., was bom June 12,1940, in Edgefield County, South Carolina. He departed this life on July 8,1999, at University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia. 
Mr. Hammonds was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. 
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Mrs. Mary Emma Hammonds of Belvedere, South Carolina; eight sisters, Ora Mae (Johnnie) Mims, Betty Hammonds (Tyrone) Davis and Nettie (James) Thurmond of North Augusta, South Carolina; Ruth Bussey and Alice Schoultz of Augusta, Georgia; Martha Peterson, Mary (Willie) Kenner and Beverly Curry of Belvedere, South Carolina; four brothers, Willie (Christine) Hammonds, Jr., Lexington, KY, James A. (Ruth) Hammonds of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rev. Matthew K. Hammonds of Augusta, Georgia and Timothy M. (Heather) Hammonds of Aiken, South Carolina; one aunt, Jennie Bell Williams of Worchester, Massachusetts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
