December 29, 1906 December 7, 1973 Jpuneral $trtrictf -- For The Late -- JOHN PHELPH GUNBY WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 12, 1973 AT 11:00 A.M. IN THE CHAPEL OF McFall Brothers Funeral Home 9419 DEXTER BOULEVARD DETROIT, MICHIGAN REV. J. L. ROBERTS, Officiating OBITUARY John Phelps Gunby was born on December 29, 1906, in Lincolnton, Georgia, to the late Robert Willie and Mary Tommie Gunby. Mr. Gunby confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. In 1923, John married Georgie Mason. To this union two daughters were born, Thelma Corine and the late Mary Ellen. He moved his family to Detroit in 1927. Johns life was enjoyed by all the beauty and wilder ness of Mother Nature, mostly hunting and running his dogs. His health began to fail early this year. Mr. Gunby departed this life on Friday, December 7, 1973, at 6:50 a.m. He leaves to cherish his memory: one loving daughter, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one brother, one sister and a host of other relatives and friends. Remember that mans life lies all within this present, as if it were but a hairs breath of time; as for the rest, the past is gone, the future may never be. Short, therefore, is mans life, and narrow is the corner of earth wherein he dwells. Order Of Service Organ Prelude ...... Processional .__ Solo ____ "Precions Memories'"' ____ Hits.
