She was born on April 16, 1934, in McBean, Georgia to the late Gilbert and Lottie Wright. She was baptized at an early age and joined Palmer Grove Baptist Church, where she served until her health failed. She was married to the late John Gilchrist. In August of 1979, she was blessed with a godchild, Ms. Shaniquia (Nikki) Utley. She worked at King Mill for thirty years and University Hospital for two years. She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted god daughter, Ms. Shaniquia (Nikki) Utley; five nieces, Mrs. June (Bernard) Edwards of Hephzibah, Georgia, Mrs. Catherine (Earl) Little, Ms. Daisy Wright, Ms. Diane Lovett and Ms. Delores Lovett, all of Augusta, Georgia; five nephews, Willie Mims, Tho mas (Patricia) Mims, Kenny Mims, Bernard Wright and Larry Wright, all of Augusta, Georgia; one aunt, Mrs. Beatrice Oliver of Augusta, Georgia; four brothers-in-law, Clarence Johnson and Dallas Johnson, both of Augusta, Georgia, Calvin L. Johnson and Miller (Evelyn) Gilchrist, both of Waynesboro, Georgia; seven sisters-in-law, Ms. Mary Barley, Ms. Lucille Givens, Ms. Thelma Robinson, all of Augusta, Georgia, Mrs. Wilhelmina (Richard) Lewis of Hephzibah, Georgia, Mrs. Dorothy (Wayne) Harris of Waynesboro, Georgia, Ms. Evelyn Lee of Dorchester, Massa chusetts and Ms. Willie Mae Gilchrist of Providence, Rhode Is land; a dear friend, Mrs. Leatrice Utley of Augusta, Georgia; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
