** OBITUARY **
God grant me the sevenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
Mrs. Reavie McKie Garrett most loving and kind daughter of the late Rev. John and Carrie McKie received a call from her Heavenly Father " to come home" on the morning of February 1, 1978 when the Angels of Silence came into the hospital and sealed the lips of this beloved sister.
She was bom November 30, 1903 in Edgefield County, S. C. In her early age she joined the Piney Grove Baptist Church. She has been the Mother of the Church for a long period of time.
She joined in Holy Wedlock to Mr. Willie Garrett, February 10, 1917. He preceeded her in death. Into this union sixteen (16) children were bom and five (5) preceeded her in death, James, Clarinda, Willie Jr., Sylvester and Norman Garrett.
She leaves to mourn her passing, five sons, Mr. Blamie Gar rett, Brooklyn, N. Y., Mr. Roosevelt Garrett, Hyetteville, Md., Mr. Moses Garrett, Mr. Izeal Garrett and Mr. Wallace Garrett of North Augusta, S. C.; six daughters, Miss Mamie Garrett, North Augusta, S. C., Mrs. Lillie Mae Harris, Mrs. Florence Madison and Miss Estella Garrett of Phila., Pa., Mrs. Rosa Lee Singleton of San Antino, Texas; Mrs. Pearlie Love, Hephzibah, Ga.; one brother, Mr. Joseph McKie; four sisters, Mrs. Elzater Gowdy, Mrs. Ardosher Gowdy, Mrs. Juanita Mims and Mrs. Mildred Johnson; one uncle, Mr. Benjamin McKie; fifty-five grandchildren; eighteen great grands; three sons-in-law; six daughters-in-law; six brothersin-law; five sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends.
