TABERNACLE BAPTIST CHURCH 1223 Laney Walker Boulevard Augusta, Georgia Reverend Dr. Charles E. Goodman, Jr., Pastor/Teacher - Officiating - JOSEPH ALLEN FRASER, II answered his Masters Call and entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Gwinnett Medical Center, Lawrenceville, Georgia. Joseph was born August 6, 1977 in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph Fraser (who preceded him in death) and Linda Fraser. Joseph faced life with a wide smile, a word of encouragement and hope; and was a living reminder that life is for the living. Joseph had the ability to form friendships anywhere life took him. He formed lifelong bonds that were characterized by an affinity to meet people and take them into his world of fellowship, closeness, mutual respect, support and a love of having fun; and always experiencing a joy in life. Joseph lived life to the fullest. He jumped into life and did not look back. Joseph attended Richmond County Schools, where he lettered in football and basketball at Westside High School. Immediately after graduating from high school Joseph joined the United States Army and became a proud member of the Elite 82 Airborne Division. He really enjoyed the comradery, adventure, travel and shopping the army afforded him. But most of all he enjoyed the lifelong friendships formed during his tenure in the army, and continued throughout his life. Leaving the military, and moving to Atlanta gave Joseph an opportunity to broaden his horizons. Joseph attended DeVry University where he acquired advanced technical skills. In Atlanta he reconnected with friends from Augusta, made more friends, enjoyed the arts, concerts, sports and traveled the world. DKAJ (Dont Know Ask Joe) became a well-known phrase in Atlanta and on the internet. He became known for showing the world how to live life to the fullest, with his sneakers and socks; and his latest venture his red Miata. Joseph leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving and devoted mother, Dr. Linda Fraser of Augusta, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Mattie andjames Dash, and Daniel Lewis of Augusta, Georgia, James Lewis of Ridgeway, South Carolina, Kenneth and Angela Lewis of Snellville, Georgia, Dr. George and Nora Jean Fraser, and Edward and Milhcent Fraser of Cleveland Ohio, Dr. Emma Fraser Pendleton of Charlotte, North Carolina, Walter Fraser, Scotland Fraser of Brooklyn, New York. Joseph was blessed to have cousins who were his brothers and sisters: Cortney Dash, Tiffany Dash, Daniel Davis, Vaughn Davis, Yvette Davis, Tiffany Allen, Thaddeus Faison, James (Herb) Lewis, Jr., Melissa Scott, Amber Lewis, Nicholas Henderson, Janean Lewis, Jason Lewis, Mya Beynum, Kevin Lewis, Scott Fraser, Kyle and Jeanella Fraser. Joseph has more friends than I can list who have enriched his life with shared experiences that were both poignant and funny. GOD bless all of you. If you are blessed, like Joe, you have a village that helped to make your life whole, just asAunts Loretta Lewis, Debra Jackson, Gloria Lewis and Tanya Lewis did for Joseph. He had mentors, counselors, and shoulders to lean onJames and Geneva Stalling; Shirley Johnson: Ronie and Debra Spencer; and Mary and Bobby Cruse. Lastly, but not least, Joe leaves behind his loving dog A.J. (Another Joe). May God continue to grace your lives. Memories from Joseph A. Fraser, II A facebook posting from DKAJ I grew up on the Southside of Augusta off Windsor Spring Road and the Westside of Augusta in Ravenwood during a time when everyone treated each other like Family. Windsor Spring, Peach Orchard, Tobacco, Deans Bridge Road and Cockatoo, Montclair, Davis Road, Spring House, Village Green, Brookside West, The Hill, etc... are places we call home! We went outside to play, we got dirty, and bought chips and candy from all the local corner stores. We played on the Southside at Red Wing roller skating, Julian Smith Casino, May Park, Pendleton King Park, Highland Park, YMCA, & the Westside Montclair Park. We played football in the streets and basketball at Warren Road Park. On Halloween, we received treats from nearly every house with a light on (all of them) and walked through Regency Mall & Augusta Mall. We didnt believe in tricking folks... We played in the water in the yard and the creeks that ran behind our houses or we walked to the Highland Park Pool. The whole neighborhood loaded on buses chartered by Paine College for the summer programs. We werent AFRAID OF ANYTHING. If you fell down you would just get back up. We fought each other on the block and we protected each other against people not from the block. If someone had a fight, thats what it was...a fight. Kids didnt have guns when I grew up. The street lights were our reminder to get back...if they were on... you were already late. You could hear our parents when they would whistle or call you to come in for the night. School was mandatory! Immaculate Conception (IC), Warren Road Elementary, Tutt Middle, Windsor Spring Elementary, PS137 (spent 2yrs in NYC!), Westside High, and all the churches. We watched our mouth around our elders because we knew if we DISRESPECTED any adult there would be hell to pay. #The Good Old Days! efwlce Processional..................When the Saints Go Marching In Call to Worship.......Reverend Dr. Charles E.
