Legons, Pastor Saturday, July 18, 1981 12:00 Noon Obituary Mrs. Gertrude Starks Danforth, the daughter of the late Nelson and Lula Starks, was born in Beech Island, South Carolina on July 30, 1896 and departed this life on Monday, July 13, 1981. At an early age she united with Hazel Grove Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her death. Mrs. Danforth was married to the late, Charles Anderson Danforth. Survivors include a devoted daughter, Mrs. Claudia Danforth Mathis; one sister, Mrs. Cora Brooks; one grandson, Mr. Garnett Maurice Mathis; one son-in-law, Mr. Garnett E. Mathis; three sisters-inlaw, Mrs. Bessie Danforth and Mrs. Rosell Starks, Augusta, Georgia, and Mrs. Sarah Huggard, Holly, Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
