Cummings was 6om the ehfest of svcchildren on February 7, 1947 in Holly Hitt, SC to proud parents Morris and Eliza Cummings. John attended andgraduated from Rpberts High Schooland upon receiving his diploma went on to join the J4ir Force where he served as an Ad Traffic Controller and Automotive Technician on active duty, also serving a tour in Vietnam. He ended his active duty service andjoined the Ad Hational guard where he eventually retired in 1991 while wording diligently at Savannah River Site as a supervisor. He fulfilled his career in 2002 at SRS and afterworfing a brief stint at the RichmondCounty Health (Department as a youth counselor, retired to dedicate his time to his family, church, and community. During the years he married his loving and devoted wife (Patricia Jenkjns Cummings on September 1, 1984 and during their union adopted a son, DerefO. Cummings. The two went on to have Cesaley A- Cummings and remained married for 32 rewarding years. John became a member and ultimately a Deacon at Than hfu! (Baptist Church where he ted the church in various accomplishments under the position as Sunday SchoolSuperintendent, Chairman of the Deacon (Board, Vacation (Bible School organizer, Touth Committee leader, designated Deacon to the Sanctuary Choir, and exceptional Culinarian of the Cuisine Committee. Two brothers preceded John in death: Morris Cummings and Marty (Brown. John [eaves behind his loving wife, (Patricia, son Derefanddaughter Cesaley; mother, (Eliza Cummings; sisters Jessie Carr, Hattie Day andgeneatha (Tony) VCittiams; grandchildren Jahwon Bonneau and Desiree Cummings and a host of family and friends. Extended family, Diane Curry, Veronica (Haywood) Shaw, (Barbara Bussey, Sandra Ottison and Angela Flashing ton and a loving church family. Deacon John L.
