Nathaniel Irvin, Officiating ** OBITUARY** Deacon Green Gumming* departed this life January 2,1992. Deacon Cummings was born to the late Amos and Cornelia Cummings on March 20, 1907 in Columbia County, Georgia. In September 1919, Deacon Cummings found the Lord at First Mount Carmel Baptist Church. He was baptized under the pastorate of Rev. G. W. Harrison. He served as a Deacon at Mr. Carmel for over 50 years. He was a member of the Abraham Masonic Lodge of Augusta. On January 30,1937, Green married Rosena Devine. To this union two children were born. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Rosena Cummings, Augusta, Ga.; two sons, Mr. Frank Cummings, San Diego, CA and Mr. Robert Lee Cummings, New York City; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Jones, Thomson, Ga. and Mrs. Hattie Garnett, Augusta, Ga.; one brother, Mr. Joe Cummings, Columbia County, Winnfield, Georgia; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; adopted daughter, Willie Mae Johnson, Augusta, Ga.; adopted son, Leonard Devine; two daughters-in-law, Dorothy J.
