? 8st*tek <3a QT& iSidefi I cant imagine that you are not here, or ever hearing you say Yes Dear. From our childhood days, we LATCHED ONTO EACH OTHER JUST LIKE GLUE. THE OLDEST OF SEVEN CHILDREN, YOUR LOVING AND SWEET SPIRIT TOOK OVER AND YOU TOOK CARE OF US, AND SO MANY OTHERS. SOMETIMES WE LAUGHED, SOMETIMES WE CRIED, BUT THROUGH IT ALL, I ALWAYS KNEW THE LOVE YOU HAD FOR ME. I COULD NEVER SAY ENOUGH ABOUT YOU, EVEN IF I TRIED. SUCH A LOYAL AND AMAZING PERSON, WITH A GENTLE SPIRIT. YOU KNOW I ALWAYS CALLED YOU MY SOCIAL BUTTERFLY! ALWAYS BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER AND NEVER WANTING TO SEE ANYONE SEPARATED. EVEN WHEN YOU WERE SICK, YOU WERE WORRIED ABOUT OTHERS, AND NOT ABOUT YOURSELF. SELFLESS, TO THE VERY END. When tragedies arose in your life, I watched how hard AND DIFFICULT THAT WAS FOR YOU. YOUR STRENGTH, COURAGE, AND FAITH IN THE LORD BROUGHT YOU THROUGH. I HAVE TO NOW TAKE THE SAME FAITH YOU HAD DURING THOSE TIMES, AND SEEK HIM, LEANING NOT TO MY OWN UNDERSTANDING. I HONESTLY CANNOT LIE TO YOU . . . IM HEARTBROKEN THAT YOU ARE NO LONGER HERE WITH ME. I WASNT READY TO LET YOU GO. I KNOW I AM BEING SELFISH, BUT I KNEW AND UNDERSTOOD THAT IT WASNT UP TO ME. My BlG SlSTER, My BEST FRIEND . . . IT HURTS TO SAY GOODBYE, BUT ALTHOUGH YOU ARE NOT HERE WITH ME PHYSICALLY, JUST AS WHEN WE WERE KIDS, YOU WILL NEVER LEAVE MY SIDE. God has said you have fulfilled your purpose here on THIS EARTH. A TRUE ANGEL GIVEN TO US FOR SIXTY-SEVEN YEARS. I TRULY FIND PEACE IN KNOWING YOU ARE IN THE ARMS of the Lord, and with your babies, Jackie and Derick SURROUNDED BY LOVE. A SONG WRITER STATED, ALTHOUGH IM MISSING YOU, ILL FIND A WAY TO GET THROUGH. BeCA USE YOU WERE MY SISTER, MY STRENGTH AND MY PRIDE, ONLY GOD MAY KNOW WHY.. STILL I WILL GET BY. Im missing you. Until we meet again ... I love you. - Your Little Sis, Doris t^cMecvIeh&j Tony Belser Carlos Marshall Willie Saunders Robert E. Young Daryl Thompson Cephas Howard Lucy C. GOOD SHEPHERD BAPTIST CHURCH 1714 Olive Road Augusta, Georgia Reverend Clarence Moore, Pastor - Officiating Reverend Ken Allen, Presiding S^ahhoJia ^fitoLefih ^Qaopefi A BENEVOLENT SERVANT OF GOD As a daily Christian worker in and outside Gods church family, Barbaras emphatic service met peoples needs. Spiritual prayer and training cleared her vision for total assessment to make eternal difference for people far away from God; and to make Christ known in practical ways. Families face periods of great change with momentous issues and events initiated by problem birth and/or untimely death, and for some, both. Most put the ministry or social program first and then look for a fit. Barbara was exceptional. She knew she worked for God daily. With prayer, and knowing His purpose for us to love, honor, and serve each other, empowered Barbara proactively to deliver careful and meaningful service. She has said, His caring spirit emphasized service for me to put the person first. In preparation to deliver Five Star Ministry in Gods family, it was important to Barbara to attend local, regional and national Baptist training. Barbara served as an Usher, Worship Greeter, Deaconess, Bereavement Ministry Team Leader and Woman Ministry Worker. Outside of church, for twenty plus years, Barbara worked at DePaul Medical Center as a Nurse Assistant in both Pediatric Care, and as a Cardiac EKG Technician. She was a Resource Mother for pregnant teenage mothers at Eastern Virginia Medical School, both centered in Norfolk, Virginia. Barbara was the elder of her sister, Doris, born to Joseph and Jeanette Roberts of Augusta, Georgia. In 1967, Barbara graduated from Lucy Craft Laney High School in Augusta. In the home of Reverend Ed and Mrs. Martha Howard, both sisters were taught and developed faith, prayer and obedience to God. Further religious nurturing came through the reaching out of godparents, Deacon and Deaconess Malverren Miller. On March 18, 1969, Barbara married William Augustus Cooper. They were parents of deceased children, Jacqueline and Derick. They gained custody of Barbaras four young siblings. She was the maternal sisters of Georgene, Diane, Carol, Carl and Eddie, all now mature adults with families. , She is survived by her: beloved husband, William Augustus Cooper; sisters, Doris (Robert) Young of Augusta, Georgia, Georgene (Blannie) Walker of St. Petersburg, Florida, Diane Love of Tampa, Florida and Carol Brady of Franklin, Virginia; brothers, Eddie Brady of St. Petersburg, Florida and Carl Brady of Atlanta, Georgia; foster mother, Malverren Miller of Augusta, Georgia; three foster sisters, Addie (John) Marshall, Betty (Moses) Dunn and Frances (Leon) Dunn, all of Augusta, Georgia; foster brother, Ira (Barbara) Miller of North Augusta, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and friends. Because of people like you, KNOW THAT GOD IS STILL WORKING MIRACLES AND GIVING OUT BLESSINGS.
