FUNERAL SERVICES For The Late LUCIUS L. COBBS, SR. MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 1985 at 2;Q0 PM LIBERTY BAPTIST CHURCH RQCKLEDGE, FLORIDA REV. LEONARD DAGGETT, OFFICIATING WYLIE BAXLEY FUNERAL HOME, DIRECTING OBITUARY Lucius L. Cobbs Sr., who departed this world on September 6, 1985, was b o m on August 12, 1910 in Edgefield, South Carolina. Mr. Cobbs was one of thirteen children b o m to Robert and Marie Weaver Cobbs. He moved from Edgefield, lived in Aiken until 1927 when he moved to Hempstead, New York. He married his loving wife, of many years, Martha Chandler Cobbs. While in Hempstead, Mr. Cobbs was an active member and Trustee of Union Baptist Church. He was a Mason, an Old Fellow and was involved in many Civic and Community Organizations too numerous to list. In 1972, he moved to Rockledge, Florida and continued his devotion to the Church. He initially became a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church and subsequently moved his membership to Liberty Baptist Church. Mr. Cobbs was also active in Civic and Community Organizations in Rockledge. One of his greatest pleasures was knowing that through his love of people, he touched many lives because of his ready smile and helping hand. Mr. Cobbs leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife, Martha, their two sons, Lucius Jr. and Austin, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a brother Jacob, two sisters, Ruth Scott and Ann Armour, in-laws, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
