Mrs. Edwina Gibson Charles, w h o passed away o n Wednesday, May 15, 2D 13, was born J uly 27, 1923 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Barney Gibson and the late Mattie Belle Hannah Gibson. 
Mrs. Charles was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church since 
HER EARLY CHILDHOOD YEARS. SHE GRADUATED FROM HAINES 
Institute in Augusta, Georgia. After graduation, she married C. A. Reid, Sr., and to this union was born a son, C. A. Reid, J r. 
Edwina later moved to New York City, a n d married Simon Charles. She lived in New York for thirty-six years, before 
RELOCATING TO PENSACOLA, FLORIDA. AFTER HER HUSBAND 
passed, Edwina moved back to Augusta, Georgia, where SHE BEGAN WORKING WITH HER SON AT C. A. REID, SR. MEMORIAL Funeral Home. 
She leaves to cherish her memories: a daughter-in-law; 
AND A HOST OF GRANDCHILDREN, OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.
