Deacons of First Metropolitan Baptist Church Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Ushers and Deaconesses of First Metropolitan Baptist Church Perhaps you sang a lovely song Or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent beautiful flowers, If so, we saw them there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, As any friend could say, Perhaps you were not there at all, Just thought of us that day. Perhaps you prepared some tasty food, Or maybe furnished a car. Perhaps you rendered a service unseen Near at hand or afar. Whatever you did to console our hearts We thank you so much Whatever the part. I thank you for the love you each have shown, But now its time I travel... alone. So grieve a While for me, if grieve you must, Then, let your grief be comforted By trust. Its only for a while that we must part, So bless those memories within your heart. I wont be for away, for life goes on, So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you cant see or touch me, Ill be near And if you listen with your heart you ll hear All my love around you soft and clear. And then when you come this way alone Ill greet you with a smile and say, Welcome Home Author Unknown
