Campfield, Sr. de parted this life after a short illness. On January 16, 1937 Archie Campfield, Sr. was born to the late Mr. Sam Campfield and Lula Mae Cooper in Screven County. He was raised by the late Frank and Lethia Frazier of Sylvania, Georgia. He attended school at Millhaven, Georgia later attend ing high school at Central High School where he gradu ated. He was employed at M&M (Savannah, GA) Tank Line where he drove trucks for many years. After leaving there he was employed at Evans Lumber where he re tired. He joined Camp Ground at an early age, where he was an active member. Two children preceded him in death, Gwendolyn Campfield and Roosevelt Benton, Jr. He leaves behind to cherish his memories: the mother of his children, Annie M. Campfield Simmons of Sylvania, GA; four children, two daughters, Cathy Benton of Statesboro, GA and Diana (Jerry) Kilcrease, Jr. of Sylvania, GA; two sons, Archie L. Campfield, Jr. of Slyvania, GA and Anthony Campfield of Augusta, GA; six sisters, Blossie (Ulysses) Moore of Baltimore, MD, Ella Mae Bryant of Savannah, GA, Mrs. Bernitha (Bennie) Washington, Alethia (Issac) Johnson, Stella (Willie) Kittles, Queen Gaines, all of Sylvania, GA; two brothers, Eugene (Josie) Campfield of Boston, MA, Herbert Frazier of Sylvania, GA; four sisters-in-law, Ethel Mae Frazier and Hattie Frazier of Savannah, GA, Emma L. Johnson and Henrietta Gaton, both of Trenton, NJ; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Hurst of Trenton, NJ; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews^ cousins and friends. Show ing m e the way. Alw ays wanting what was best fo r everyone, N ever putting him self ahead, Even though I know that h e is in m y heart, I'v e n ev er m et a better person, I wish h e could b e h ere w atching m e, To help m e walk m y way, A s I develop into a beautifuly o u n g woman.
