 Obituary 
On Sunday, July 16,2006, Archie L. Campfield, Sr. de parted this life after a short illness. 
On January 16, 1937 Archie Campfield, Sr. was born to the late Mr. Sam Campfield and Lula Mae Cooper in Screven County. He was raised by the late Frank and Lethia Frazier of Sylvania, Georgia. 
He attended school at Millhaven, Georgia later attend ing high school at Central High School where he gradu ated. He was employed at M&M (Savannah, GA) Tank Line where he drove trucks for many years. After leaving there he was employed at Evans Lumber where he re 
tired. He joined Camp Ground at an early age, where he 
was an active member. Two children preceded him in death, Gwendolyn Campfield and Roosevelt Benton, Jr. 
He leaves behind to cherish his memories: the mother of his children, Annie M. Campfield Simmons of Sylvania, GA; four children, two daughters, Cathy Benton of Statesboro, GA and Diana (Jerry) Kilcrease, Jr. of Sylvania, GA; two sons, Archie L. Campfield, Jr. of Slyvania, GA and Anthony Campfield of Augusta, GA; six sisters, Blossie (Ulysses) Moore of Baltimore, MD, Ella Mae Bryant of Savannah, GA, Mrs. Bernitha (Bennie) Washington, Alethia (Issac) Johnson, Stella (Willie) Kittles, Queen Gaines, all of Sylvania, GA; two brothers, Eugene (Josie) Campfield of Boston, MA, Herbert Frazier of Sylvania, GA; four sisters-in-law, Ethel Mae Frazier and Hattie Frazier of Savannah, GA, Emma L. Johnson and Henrietta Gaton, both of Trenton, NJ; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Hurst of Trenton, NJ; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews^ cousins and 
friends.

Then God combined these qualities, When there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete,

SLEEPING WITH THE ANGELS 
 
From a place high above, 
 
I thought my life was over, 
 
Where angels float in the sky, To the very ground I walk on, My Grandfather watches over me, 
 
I did not get to see him often, Even though he was not far away, But even then he meant the world to me, 
 
Every step I take, 
 
Leading me in the right direction, 
 
He knew no wrong. 
 
Showing me the way. 
 
Always wanting what was best for everyone. 
 
Never putting himself ahead. 
 
Even though I know that he is in my heart, 
 
Ive never met a better person, 
 
I wish he could be here watching me, 
 
To help me walk my way, 
 
As Idevelopinto a beautifulyoung woman. 
 
I never thought Id get through this, 
 
No.matter what, No matter how faraway he might be, 
 
And still havent today, But knowing hes always with me. 
 
He is still my hero, 
 
Makes me stronger in my everyday Ufe. 
 
For he has changed me. 
 
The death of my guardian angel. 
 
You see, my Grandfather died a few days ago, But now his spirit is with me, 
 
Was the hardest day of my Ufe, Even though he moved to the 
 
And I know hes living a better life. Sleeping with the angels, 
 
best place in the world. 
 
In his comfy bed at night.
