Moss, III ~ Pastor son of the late Alien and Mamie Alien Byrd, was born October 13,1914, in Augusta, Georgia. At an early age, he was converted to Christ and was baptized at Tabernacle Baptist Church by the late Rev. D. F. Thompson. He served faithfully on the Usher and Trustee Boards for many years. Harold united in Holy Matrimony to Dorothy Williams on June 28, 1938. To this union two daughters were born, Rubena and Sandra. Harold was employed for 15 years by the railroad as a Pullman Car Porter. He was also employed for over fifty years as a private chef. He was devoted to his wife and children. His daughter, Rubena Byrd Parker, preceded him in death, March 13,1996. He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife, Dorothy Williams Byrd; one daughter, Sandra Byrd Peterson, Chicago, IL; two sons-in-law, James Peterson, Jr., Chicago, IL and Herman Parker, Augusta, GA; four grandchildren, David Lament Parker, Michelle Parker Miller and Terry Miller, Augusta, GA and James A. Peterson, III, Chicago, IL; niece and nephew, Anita Byrd Jones and Samuel Jones, Woodridge, VA; cousins, Marie Peryear and Sherry Peryear, Augusta, GA; two brothers-in-law, James Williams, Teaneck, NJ and Purnell Mincy, Bronx, NY; two sisters-in-law, Ernestine W. Tucker, Augusta, GA and Iris W. Pinkney, Los Angeles, CA; his life long and devoted friend, Stewart Hull, Augusta, GA; three special children, Marion Boyd Sullivan, Mt. Pleasant, SC; Deborah Hull Boyd and Gail Boyd Edmonds, Hilton Head, SC; three nieces and eight nephews; and other relatives and friends. Processional Prayer .............................. Rev.
