Mrs. Rebecca A. "Sis"Beard Butler departed this life January 25,
2 0 0 5 a t her residence a t the age of 102. She was the oldest living member of Beulah Grove B aptist Church. She was the daughter o f the late Daniel and Eliza Emory Beard. She was converted and baptized a t Simonia B a p tist Church in Columbia County. She was married to the late Calvin Butler.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, children, siblings, and one granddaughter.
Mrs. Butler was a woman of her word. She was always willing to
help those in need. She never bothered anyone. She was a very direct person who did not pretend. She would let you know how she fe lt about things, but most importantly, she loved the Lord and she was ready to be with her Savior.
She is survived by a grandson, Chester "Jackie Woods, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Polly B. Jackson, grandson-in-law, Frank (Ernestine) Howard, one step daughter, Mrs. Sophia Green, six great- grandchildren, 15 great- great grandchildren, two devoted nieces, Mrs. Queenie B. Childs and Mrs. Alma B. Simpkins, three step granddaughters, one dear fr\end, Mrs. Ethel Oliver and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends
