(B(ount ^, f widow of the late George C. Blount, was born to the late tSK j Charlie and Mandy Smith on April II, 1916, in Parksville, South Carolina. { She departed this life to begin another on December 18, 2007. She was a faithful member of the Gumming Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir until failing health prevented her from doing so. Mrs. Blount was president of the choir for several years. Before her retirement she was employed at the VA. Prior to that, she was employed at Fort Gordon (which was known as Camp Gordon) and Oliver General Hospital. She received several awards and commendations from these employers for her dedicated services. Mrs. Blount was known especially her cakes. She was known as the "Best Cook on Sand Hill." She was preceded in death by a son, John Blount; brother, Eddie Smith; sisters, Annie Gilchristand Viola Moore; two great grandsons, DevynMcCray and Jeremiah Toy/or and a granddaughter, KathyMcCray. Cherishing her memory and her life are: a daughter, Annie M. (Luther, Sr.) McCray; son, Henry A. (Rose L.) Smith; j, nine grandchildren, Harry O. McCray, Tiffany T. (Jeff) Hall, Demon L. (LaToya) (i 5t Smith, Ryan A. Smith, James E.
