 ** OBITUARY ** 
Life is a journey, not a home; a road, not a city of habitation; and the enjoyments and blessings we have are but little inns on the roadside of life, where we may be refreshed for a moment, that we may with new strength press on to the end to rest that remaineth for the people of God. 
On Friday, July 9, 1982, Mrs. Pearl Dunbar Bell departed this life. She was the daughter of the late Rev. B. R. and Sister Keller Grubbs Dunbar, born October 4, 1910, in Beech Island, South Carolina. 
Pearl was brought to Augusta at an early age and attended the public schools in Richmond County. 
She was converted and baptized by the Rev. Corkie Danford, at the Galilee Baptist Church, Beech Island, South Carolina - the church founded by her father. 
In 1929, she united herself with the Thankful Baptist Church and since then has been a faithful and loyal member. During periods when her health prevented her from attending services regularly, she would never for get the financial needs of the church. She would telephone friends and when the time or event came, her financial report would be there. 
Independent, strong-willed, and devoted to God, church, and family were her strongest assets. 
Cherishing fond memories are: one son, Burruss Gooden, Brooklyn, N. Y.; one sister, Mrs. Daisy D. Robinson, Savannah, Ga.; daughter-in-law. Mrs. Evelyn Gooden, Brooklyn, N. Y.; two grand daughters, Valerie and Yvette Gooden, Brooklyn, N. Y.; two nieces, Mrs. Catherine G. Rochell, New York City, and Mrs. Robbie M. Lewis, New York City; grand nieces. Mrs. Francell G. Douglas, Mrs. Dianne L. Shields, Ms. Barbara Jean Lewis, Ms. Sally Gooden, Mrs. Arrie L. Huggins, and Mrs. Victoria Hicks, all of Brooklyn, N. Y.; grand nephew, Mr. James Gooden, Brooklyn, N. Y.; de voted friends, Mrs. Laura Wiggins, Mrs. Viola White, and Mr. Johnny Jor dan; other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
