He was born April 5, 1954, to the late Leonard Barksdale, Sr. and Bertha J. Singleton, in Augusta, Georgia. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at Cumming Grove Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend H.B. Bady. He was educated in the Richmond County School System. He was employed at Gracewood Hospital and International Paper. When I must leave you For a little while- Please do not grieve And shed wild tears And hug your sorrow to you Through the years, Willie was a member of the Roadrunner Motorcycle Club, where he was instrumental in creating and organizing the club. He also enjoyed playing music. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Xzavier Barksdale. Willie is survived by: his lovely wife, Josie Barksdale; daughter, Stacie Barksdale; two sons, Brandon Barksdale and Ramone (Sashanda) Griffin; parents, Sam and Bertha Singleton; two sisters, Betty Harrison and Rosemary (Jason) Beard; two brothers, Isaiah Barksdale and Kenneth Barksdale; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Rouse, Shirley (Lester) Dunn, and Ruby Brown; brothers-in- law, Willie (Gladys) Brown of Manchester, NJ, and Joe Tillman; seven grandchildren, Kiara Barksdale, Terald Barksdale, Kelsha Barksdale, TyRiana Griffin, Levi Griffin, Ca-Marien Habersham, and Jabbaari Rhoden; five great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Kanisha Beard; aunts, Dicie (Spencer) Davis of Charlotte, NC, and Carrie (Marshall) Allen, Washington, DC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
