 OBITUARY 
Amanda P. Artemas, daughter of the late 
Major and Frances Percy was bom August 20, I85 
in Fairfield County and passed this life on May 28, 1965. 
She has spent most of her life in Batesburg and was a member of Calvery A*M.E* Church* 
In I9IO, she was married to the late Janus 
Z* Artemus of Edgefield County and to this union were bom one daughter, Eula P. and two sons, Major James and the late Timothy Edward* 
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Eula Gibson; one son, Major Artemus of Batesburgj two sisters, Mrs. Alice Jones, Pittsburg, Paj Mrs* Julia Humphrey, New York City; one brother^ Thomas Peny, Batesburg; four grandchildren, Mrs. Virginia Mendenhall, Denmark, S. C.; Mrs* Jacqulyn Carter, Batesburg; jpmes and Jeriy Arte;"us, Philadelphia, Pa*; six great-grandchildren; a number of nephews and neices and a host of other relatives and friends*
