OAKLAND AVENUE SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH HORACE MALONE, PASTOR GijituCLXij When one has given her life for a good cause, bestowing freely and unselfishly her talents, influences, and time for the betterment of the com- munity, touching all phases of the religious, social, and civic life of the peo- ple, death is momentous. The late MRS. IDA MAE ANDREWS was born October 6, 1923 in Georgetown, South Carolina, where she received her education from Howard High School. She was the daughter of the late Victoria and Sandy Smalls. Mrs. Andrews passed away Saturday, November 16, 1985, after an illness. For several years, Mrs. Andrews was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Oakland Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1971 where she was a faithful member until her illness. She received several diplomas for Bible correspondence courses, awards and certificates for outstanding participation in the following areas Darcus Leader, Usher, Deaconess, Sabbath School teacher, choir member and per- sonal ministry leader. Survivors include her beloved husband: Mr. William (Bill) Andrews, Sr. of the home; four sons: Mr. Leroy Andrews, Mr. James E. Andrews, both of Augusta, Georgia, Mr. William Andrews, Jr. of Columbia and Mr. Jerome W. Andrews of Florence, South Carolina; four daughters: Mrs. Deloris Andrews Johnson, Mrs. Christine Andrews Clark, Mrs. Carol An- drews Alston, all of Augusta, Georgia and Mrs. Ernestine Andrews Sim- mons of Fort Sill, Oklahoma; one sister: Mrs. Elizabeth Moultrie of Georgetown, South Carolina; four daughters-in-law: Mrs. Icy Lee An- drews, Mrs. Vicky Andrews, both of Augusta, Georgia, Mrs. Doris An- drews of Columbia, South Carolina and Mrs. Cynthia Anderson Andrews of Florence, South Carolina; three sons-in-law: Mr. William Johnson, Mr. Johnny Alston, both of Augusta, Georgia and Mr. Noah Simmons of Fort Sill, Oklahoma; three brothers-in-law: Mr. Freddie Moultrie, Mr. Albert Andrews and Mr. Thomas Howard; four sisters-in-law: Mrs. Ethel Shaw, Mrs. Rose Lee Kennedy, Mrs. Gloria Fortune and Mrs. Claudie Israel; thirty-two grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
