Luke asks whether or not Ben earned a profit from the prize fight and received money from the bank. He reports that he did good business on a road show, though it has been raining. Luke relates that the man with the film has sent advertising materials to Macon, and advises Ben to post the materials immediately in preparation for his show. He complains that he is not well and will not visit Macon on Sunday if he is still sick. Luke asks Ben what "the man in Jacksonville, Florida" wanted. He suggests that Ben may want to play "the man with the film" on both Thursday and Friday, but urges him to negotiate and make the performer pay for the film that would have played Friday, express shipping, and advertising paper. Luke notes that he has enclosed the performer's contract (not included with this document). He advises Ben to arrange for a second boxing match if the first one makes money. Luke mentions that if he is able to visit Macon on Sunday, he plans to stay for a few days to help. He advises Ben to convince First National to reschedule the picture they are playing on Thursday.
