[POST OFFICE] Box 21 MACON, GA [GEORGIA]] [typewritten text: Sept. [September] 29th. 1927 Mr. Stein, Douglass Theatre, City. Dear Sir: Some few weeks before you came to Macon, very much against my own will, I was persuaded by a party to open up a colored picture show at Vineville Branch. This is very much out of my line and this party agreed to run the place and put in half of the money, after closing up for same, this party had an offer out of the City which appealed to him more and left me with the show. I am not a picture show man and never was, but I endeavored to try it out for a while, but it was impossible for me to devote my time to same and as my other interest demanded my entire attention. Hence I gave it up. I will say this that the first month or six weeks that I remained with it and on the job, it was paying, doing around $75.00 per day, but after I left, it went off to nothing. I thought probably that you may be interested and operate it as a second run colored house. I will sell you the equipment much less than what it cost me. The license is paid for the rest of the year and the rent is $35.00 per month. You know what your pictures will cost you and I firmly beleive [believe] that you can get good returns on your money. The house is fully equipped and can be started immediately. Have never had thepleasure [the pleasure] of meeting you, but would like very much to do so. If you are interested, you may reach me at the Phoenix Hotel at any time during the day. Should I be out leave word and I will call you. If you are interested in any way I will sell you my equipment, as I said above at a rock bottom price and make the terms to suit and it wont take much to do it. With kind regards, I am, Yours very truly,] [Signed] [written text: Louis M Rossignol] [typewritten text: Louis M. Rossignol.]
