Rossignol to Ben Stein, owner and manager of the Douglass Theatre, dated September 29, 1927, offering a theater for sale. Rossignol complains that he was persuaded to open up a "colored" cinema at Vineville Branch by a party who agreed to manage the theater but then abandoned the business. Rossignol explains that he personally could not devote the time necessary to run the venture. He discloses that earnings were around $75.00 a day when he was on the job, but that the profit decreased after he left. Rossignol suggests that Stein might be interested in operating the theater as a second-run "colored" house and adds that he will sell Stein the equipment below cost. He adds that the license is paid for the rest of the year and that the rent is $35.00 per month. Rossignol notes that the theater is fully equipped and can be used immediately. He further offers to sell Stein his equipment if he is interested and says he would like to meet with him. He advises Stein that he can be reached at the Phoenix Hotel, but that he will call Stein if he is out when Stein tries to contact him.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2005, as part of Georgia HomePLACE.
