Morris to Douglass Theatre manager Ben Stein, dated July 12, 1927, negotiating terms for a proposed boxing match at the Douglass Theatre. The letter refers to terms which Stein offered to Morris' boxing manager, Joe Jennings (see dbr002 of the Douglass Theatre database). Morris expresses his desire to exhibit his fighters in Macon, but argues that he is dissatisfied with the terms of the match because he feels he is assuming all of the risk in the venture. He counsels Stein that boxing in a new region will not show immediate profits, but that perseverence will pay. Morris argues for new terms by projecting profits and detailing the cost of transportation and housing for his fighters.</dc:description><dc:description>Digital image and encoded transcription of an original manuscript, scanned, transcribed and encoded by the Digital Library of Georgia in 2005, as part of Georgia HomePLACE.
