Hungerford refuses to pay the claim of the Hand Company and suggests that if Trimble fails to pay it, Boyd should proceed with the sale of the Cincinnati Company mill. He asks Boyd to ensure that Hall's claim for lawyers' fees is not allowed and asks him not to sell the boiler and engine, as Hall only performed work on the mill. Hungerford directs Boyd to apply payment from Williams toward the Hand claim and orders him to sell the house and furniture immediately if Williams fails to make his payment. He urges Boyd to pressure Trimble to pay notes and asks whether Boyd has the necessary documentation to bring suit against Trimble.
