Dear Sir
Yours of the 26th ult. [ultimo] was received yesterday having been delayed somewhere. I will continue the proposition I made you in my last till the 1st of June of course understanding by the proposition that you relieve me in due and legal form of the debts of the Hand Co. [Company] and Mr. Howell and hold the property in such shape till Mr. Trimble's notes are due that he will have no excuse for not paying them and can make the other payments if he chooses and take the property. Also you are to collect those notes of him if possible and send me the money after taking out your commission 10%. I mean of course

the note given to me and also the one given to Mr. Howell to secure his debt. I wish you would inform me what you think the chances are of getting those notes. If you decide to accept my proposition please send me receipts of releases from the Hand Co. [Company] and Mr. Howell and make out such papers of conveyance for the property as are necessary and I will sign them. My power of attorney for my Uncle is still in force. I hear accounts in the papers of rich discoveries of gold in White Co. [County] Ga. [Georgia] and that the influx of speculators to the Georgia gold region was large. I should think you would find some one to sell our machinery to for it is first class throughout. I am doing very well here. This is a lively mining region which is
