Dexter notes that he has received a letter from Boston, and that the new treasurer of the Yahoola River and Cane Creek Hydraulic Hose Mining Company, Nathan H. Hand, has traveled to Dahlonega to settle claims. He says Peck will travel there at the same time. Dexter reports that he has made a proposal to the company to settle, but has not received a reply. Depressed by the looming court case, he complains that business is slow, and adds that if he lives, he will spend spring in Dahlonega, suggesting that he is sick.</dc:description><dc:description>A project of the Digital Library of Georgia in association with the Lumpkin County Library, Chestatee Regional Library System as part of Georgia HomePLACE.
