Stephenson asks for a simple charter of incorporation for the Dahlonega Gold Company, explaining that the company has become disorganized since half the stock is now under sequestration and held in the North. Stephenson communicates his eagerness to work the mine as soon as possible and says he will send a blank charter in a few days. He relates news about the health of family and friends and notes that efforts are being made to get clothes for the soldiers fighting the Civil War. Stephenson worries that the soldiers will not be comfortable because it is difficult to procure wool.</dc:description><dc:description>A project of the Digital Library of Georgia in association with the Lumpkin County Library, Chestatee Regional Library System as part of Georgia HomePLACE.
