This job is clearly divided into three parts: First, we are under contract to the United States Armed Forces, to transport arms and ammunition, men and essential supplies to our military stations wherever they may be. Second, we have for many months been helping to train combat pilots and ground personnel for the U. S. Army and Navy, and performing other vital military and naval services. Third, we are continuing operation as a common carrier air transport system wdth schedules serving the important war production centers. "The ivhole-hearted fashion in which the air carriers have cooperated with the military services in furtherance of the war effort, states the Civil Aeronautics Board, "has made it possible for them to continue operating under private management. . . CANCELLATIONS will be accepted and full refund made on telegraphic, telephone, written or verbal notice if such noticeis received by 9:00 p.m. the preceding day where planes depart earlier than 10:00 a.m. and two hours before scheduled departure where planes depart after 10:00 a.m. Space reserved but not paid for will be held until two hours before departure of plane and will be sold at that time if not called for. BAGGAGE: Forty pounds oi baggage including brief cases and hand luggage will be carried free on any ticket. Baggage in excess of 40 pounds will be charged for at the rate of ^ of 1% of the published one-way fare per pound, with a minimum charge of 25 cents. Baggage i n excess of 50 pounds per passenger will be carried only by special arrangement. Pets will be accepted as baggage under certain conditions. Consult Northwest Airlines agent. CHILDRENS FARES: A child under two years of age will be carried free if held on lap. Children two years of age and over will be charged the applicable full fare. Children under eight years of age will not be carried unless accompanied by a full fare paying passenger. ROUND TRIP FARES: There is no reduction for round trip fares. Round trip fares are two times the regular one way fares. Return coupon is not valid for transportation unless reservation has been confirmed. SCHEDULES show the time at which planes may be expected to arrive at, or depart from stations, and to connect with other planes or trains, but the company will not be responsible for conse- quences arising from delays or from errors in the printed schedule. The time shown is subject to change without notice. STOP OVERS are permitted at any regularly scheduled stop, but passenger assumes responsibility of making necessary subsequent reservations. DINING SERVICE: You are the guest of Northwest Airlines at stations designated in the regular time table and also in flight during meal time.
