The Psalm (esp. v.1) inspired Martin Luther's hymn, "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God." It is a song of Zion celebrating God's ultimate victory over the nations, even using what is bad in the world to make good of them. Its emphasis on the Holy City, that God's dwelling place will remain secure in Jerusalem (vv.4-7), is why the Psalm is classified as a Song of Zion.</dc:description><dc:format>application/pdf</dc:format><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:rights>http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-EDU/1.0/</dc:rights><dc:source>Interdenominational Theological Center Faculty Publications||https://nclutheran.org/summerofpsalms-day08/</dc:source><dc:subject>Theology--Study and teaching</dc:subject><dc:title>Summer of Psalms: Day 8 - Psalm 46, February 19, 2020</dc:title><dc:type>Text</dc:type></oai_dc:dc>
