Nash. Nash led the Twiggs County Volunteers, Company C, 4th Georgia. Joining as a 2nd lieutenant when the war began, he quickly rose to 1st lieutenant, and by October 1861 was elected captain. In July 1863 he became major of the 4th Georgia. Captured at the Wilderness on May 10, 1864, he was exchanged in Charleston, South Carolina, on August 1, 1864, and elected lieutenant colonel on August 5. He commanded Cook's brigade at the surrender at Appomattox on April 9,1865.
