Description:
Photographs and text from Women of Armstrong display (2007.) From Janet Stone's text: Emma Thompson graduated from Armstrong's dental hygiene program in 1972. She returned to Armstrong in 1974, after marriage to Bill Simon, to teach in the program from which she had graduated. When Armstrong's graduate programs affiliated with Georgia Southern University in 1990, Emma became Armstrong's representative in the often touchy administrative negotiations with Statesboro. After the affiliation ended in 1995, she continued as Dean of the School of Graduate Studies at Armstrong, reflecting her strong administrative abilities and the fact that health professions had become a major weight in Armstrong's undergraduate and graduate programs.
