Description:
Photographs and text from Women of Armstrong display (2007.) From Janet Stone's text: Jule Rossiter graduated from Armstrong Junior College in the class of 1939. Gracious in manner befitting a well-respected Savannah family, but somewhat prim and formal in her personal appearance, she astounded the college and the community by her late in life marriage to the jovial Tom Stanfield. In 1979, the University System decided that the financial officers of its institutions could hold the title of Vice President. For the next two years, until her retirement in January 0f 1981, Jule Rossiter Stanfield served as Armstrong's first female Vice President.
