ALFONZO MACEO WOODARD , one of ten children to the umon of Marcelous Woodard and Susie Hunter Woodard , was born August 31 , 1899 io Spaulding County , -Ge orgia where he e n joy ed a normal , happy childhood. 
Converted early in life he was bapti zed i nto t:he Big Spring Baptist Church and upon coming to the Miami are a some thirty-odd years ago he c onn ec ted him self wit h the Mount Zion Raptis t Church . I11. rec e nt years howev e~ : he had hecom~: a memher of th e Church of Th e Op e n Door . 
His quiet , unassuming manner gained for him many loyal friends and loved ~n e.s including tho s e w id~ "Whom he -worked at The Rod and Reel Cluh - where he was emplo)red for a number of ye ar s . 
And , as in life. so i t was in the earl v morning hours of Wedne s day , November 20, 1968 our bel oveq '.'A I'_' _~ calmly ar d serenely made hi s home-goi ng . 
He will be sadly missed and remembered by his devoted wife , Bessie; son , Charles of Detroit , Mich .; step-mother-. Mrs . Eula Woodard of Atlanta Geor_gia ~tep-daughter, Mrs. Betty D. Dowd of Newark , N.J . ; sister , Mrs. Ma'rnie Calhoun of Griffin, Ga.; two granddaughters , several ni eces, nephews, lesser relatives and numerous friends.
