Atlanta, Georgia Father John Adamski Officiating hituar~ Ms. Elizabeth Cassandra Williams was born May 10, 1928 in Atlanta, Georgia. She truly enjoyed encouraging and exposing young ladies to higher education and the fine arts. Etiquette, speech, and culture were a way of life; qualities that were instilled in her by her parents and her years at Spelman College. She was the only child of General and Alberta Williams. She attended Booker T. Washington High School. Upon graduation, she enrolled at Spelman College. She received her Bachelors degree in 1949 and recently celebrated her 50th Golden Class reunion. After receiving her Masters in Library Science from Syracuse University, she worked as a librarian in several states including California, New York, Texas and Georgia. She worked as a children's librarian, college librarian, adult and technical services librarian. In 1994, she retired from the Fulton County Government after twenty-one years of Library Services. Ms. Williams was an avid supporter of the performing arts including the Alliance Theater, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the Atlanta Ballet. But her true love was traveling. She has enjoyed extensive travel in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Bermuda. When speaking of her life, she recently wrote, "Memorable among my experiences are walking on a glacier in Alaska, walking through a lava tube on the big island of Hawaii, and riding through and above the canopy of a rain forest in Costa Rica." A devout Catholic, Ms. Williams spent many wonderful and spiritual years at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, and spoke of it often. Ms. Williams leaves to mourn her passing, her cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sullivan (Mattye), Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kelley (Hortense), Mrs. Elizabeth Baccus, Mrs. Johnny Calhoun, Mr. Herman Sullivan, Mr. and Mrs. George Trammell (Carolyn), Mr. and Mrs. Charles Trammell (Faye), and Mrs. Madeline Phillips; and a host of other relatives and friends.
