Moore St. Dublin, Georgia 31021 478-272-0366 bttuarp Mrs. Salema Lee Coates Ricks White was born on September 13, 1932 in Dublin, Georgia. She was the oldest child of the late Irene Erving and Louis Coates. In 1975, Salema married Isaac White who preceded her in death in 2005 after 30 years of marriage. Also preceding her in death was her baby sister, Vannie D. Ma- She was a proud member of the Washing- son, step children, Martha Johnson and ton St. High School class of 1949. She Miriam Vickers, and Brenda G. Coates, a also attended Payne College and Albany niece whom she raised. State College and she received a Masters Degree from Georgia College. She began her teaching career at Millville School and later retired from Northwest Laurens High School after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Georgia Association of Retired Educators and was nominated teacher of the year in 1989, the year she retired. As a member of Second Baptist Church, she served tirelessly for more than 30 years in various capacities including Church Secretary, deaconess, and singing in numerous choirs. She was the first VBS teacher at Byrd Hill Baptist Church and occasionally taught Bible Study there as She leaves to cherish her memories her children by birth and by marriage: Danny (Betty) Scott, Lester L. Ricks, Amy L. Ricks, Gwendolyn (William) Burwell, Pastor Geraldine Cadle, Ecleamus (Norma) Ricks, James Robert (Essie) White, Patricia Ricks, Rev. Mary W. Ashley, Valencia (Luther) Williams, Rose English, Sonja Mason, Theotis White, Cantrell Hollingsworth, Evangelist Line Nell (Ira) English, Craig (Mary) Ricks, Christine Moore, Sheila (Paul) Conyers, and Christa Parks; a special nephew, Richard (Martha) Mason; and nieces whom she raised, Cheryl Ma- son, and Carmen Dardy; brother-in-law, Rev. Moses White; sister-in-laws, Lou- well.
