OBITUARY 
 
"Tell me not in mournful numbers Life is but an empty dream. 
For the soul is dead that slumbers And things are not what they seem.

On February 27 , 1950 in Nashville, Tennessee . . . RALPH C. 
 
WATSON was born and departed this life October 18, 1981. At an 
 
early age, he professed a hope in Christ and united with Vine Glenn 
 
Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Reverend B. L. Driskell. 
 
He attended the Nashville Davidson County Schools and was 
 
a graduate of Cameron High School. .For a short period, he served 
 
in the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge. 
 
His education was continued when he enrolled in Trevecca College, 
 
where he received the B.S. degree and many honors for his ex- - 
 
cellency in basketball. 
 
0n April 6, 1971, he married Brenda Jordan and to this union, 
 
one child was born, Ralph C. Watson, Jr. Later, he was married 
 
in 1976 to Mary Moore. He was a dependable and faithful em~ 
 
ployee for several years with the Harrison McClain Masonry Con- 
 
struction Company. Hisjovial personality rightfully earned him the 
 
nickname, " Buster", and endeared him to so many personalities 
 
in all walks of life. 
 
 
 
He was a physical education instructor and basketball coach at 
 
Tennessee Youth Center. His pleasant disposition, warm smiles 
 
and winning ways will long be remembered by members of his 
 
family and by the many friends who were privileged to know hjm. 
 
He leaves to cherish his mempry; wife, Mary M. Watson; son, 
 
Ralph C. Watson, Jr.; mother, Mrs. Hannah M. McCord; step-father , 
 
Mr. William J. McCord, Sr.; brothers, John H., Walter H., and Orestes 
 
Watson , William J. McCord, Jr.; sisters, Emestjean Crawford , The- 
 
dora Elizabeth Scott, Deborah Ann (Brown) McChollin; three 
 
brothers-in-law ; three sisters-in-law; seven nephews; twelve nieces ; 
 
two uncles; five aunts ; a host of other relatives and friends.
