On Thursday, December 8, 1955 the beautiful Sherri Felicia Walthall was born to the late Mr. Harold E. and Mrs.
Minarlia A. Walthall. Sherri became the baby sister of Evelyn Jean, Harriet, Harold Jr. and Myra.

Sherri was a native Atlantan and gave her life to Christ at an early age. She joined !conium Baptist Church and served on the usher board and member of the choir. Later she became a member of First !conium Baptist Church. Sherri's light for Christ shined in all areas of her life.

Sherri always exhibited an immense thirst for knowledge, became a voracious reader and education became an intricate part of her life. Upon graduation from Luther J. Price High School, she attended Morris Brown College. She was a proud Brownite and received her Bachelors of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Always excelling and striving for greatness, Sherri received her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Nova Southeastern University.
Sherri had an alluring smile and aura of love that brought joy and happiness to everyone she touched. She began her long and illustrious career at Atlanta Public Schools. She taught at John Carey Elementary and William M. Boyd Elementary. In each and every one of her students (who became her children), she looked for the best and expected the best. After a successful career with countless awards and accolades, Sherri retired from Atlanta Public Schools in 2011.

Sherri was passionate about everything in life-her family, students and friends. Sherri was a die-hard Atlanta Falcon fan, Falcon super model, unofficial cheerleader and coach, professional season ticket holder, collector of all Falcon paraphernalia and a Falcon tailgating expert. She was also active in the Price High School alumni association. Although a longtime Cobb County homeowner Sherri was very involved with the NAACP Clayton County branch and special Freedom Fund contributor. Sherri's family were her anchor and she was a loving, devoted daugh~ ter to her Mother who was also her Best friend. To her family and friends Sherri was always your greatest motivator and cheerleader. In her you had a true friend. The clarion called for Sherri Felicia Walthall, May 4, 2016. Sherri is cheered on to heaven with God's grace and love for a race well run and life well lived.
