Nesbitt, Jr. Officiating Daisy Bowens Swann was the eighth child of thirteen children born to the late Ida Hightower Bowens and Mike Bowens on March 1, 1911 in McDonough, Georgia. The angels came and she departed this life on Wednesday, June 20, 2007. At age ten, her parents moved to Atlanta and located in the South Atlanta Community where she was educated in the Atlanta Public Schools. Daisy was reared and nurtured in a Christian home by loving family members and friends. As a child, she gave her life to Christ by joining Providence Baptist Church where she served faithfully attending Sunday School and worship service. Daisy was married to the late Jesse Brandon Swann, Sr. To this union, they were blessed with five sons and one daughter. Being an avid church goer, she carried her children to church with her. She was a dedicated and loyal member in the choir until her health failed. An active member of Providence Baptist Church for eighty plus years, Daisy lived a long and beautiful life, which touched the lives of others. As an employee of Smart Products, she gave unselfishly to humanity. Her kind deeds, everpresent helping hand, and thoughtful words won the love, respect and admiration of all who knew her. As Matriach of the family, Daisy loved her family dearly and they in turn loved her. After the death of her only daughter, she took on the responsibility of rearing her two children, Sheryl (Shane) and Gartrell (Porky). She loved them unconditionally and they could do no wrong. The family will always remember her love for Playing Bingo, Cooking Cakes and Pies, Shopping, Eating Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Pork Skins, Orange Slice Candy, Drinking Pepsi Cola and just being with Family and Friends. Doing Just Fine I heard a voice in the middle of the day That said "worry no more, things will be OK". Pain and suffering will be no more, I heard you knocking and I opened the door; So come my child before the throne For I have come to take you Home. So good bye to you that /leave behind, I'm with my Father doing just fine. PRELUDE ............ ......... "When We All Get To Heaven" .................... Atlanta, Georgia Family and friends will return to the church for a repast following the Interment. I have lived my life, and now it ends with a song, I've sometimes been right and sometimes wrong. But ofall the things I endeavored to do, I knew my God would see me through. My Father knows I have done my best, He knows I'm weary and need to rest. Weep not for me, for I go not this road alone, I'm with my Father and we're going home. So remember me with smiles and not tears, Think ofall the good times we've had through the years. Think ofall the love I've held for you in my heart, And know that all oftime cannot from you this love depart. Until memory fades and life departs, she will forever be in our hearts We are at peace with her passing and wish to share this poem with you: DAISY We thank God that He sent us the most wonderful and loving Daisy. You tirelessly loved and cared for each of us, your family. As adults, you continued to live and care for us even more. You were always there for us. Actually you were our "backbone". Daisy, we miss you so much!! Our consolation comes when we remember that you are now in the presence of God, beholding His wonderful glory. Although, we won't see you physically, we know that you will always be with us, for you are written across each of our hearts. Daisy, this is not goodbye, just "see you later" for we know that if each of us live right and by the things that we have learned, we will see you again in the rapture. We will always love you and forever you will be ... ... . Daisy Your Family Mother's Board Deacon Ministry Grandsons/Nephews - Jesus promised us they who mourn would be comforted. During the hour of our bereavement, this promise has been fulfilled by our Lord who gives us such wonderful friends and neighbors as you . Your prayers, your love, your presence and your services are warmly appreciated. We saw all of these as God's love expressed through you . Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you very much. May God continue to bless you. Special Thanks to Mrs. Margery Ponder and Staff (The Home Place) , Sunbridge of Atlanta Staff and South Fulton Medical Center Staff and The Fourth Floor Intensive Care Unit who cared for her needs with gentleness, comforting words, kindness and love.
