Diggs Smalls, daughter of the late Ernest Diggs, Jr. and Pearlean Diggs was born July 1, 1944 in Rockingham, North Carolina and was raised in the Mount Pisgah A.M.E. Jenny became the key figure in Payroll, Time Attendance and Resources at Newmark and received many accolades for her work performance and know-how. She was very civic-minded and communicated regularly with her famed Leak Street High School Alumni; planning fund raiser events and class reunions. She later became President of the Leak Street Chapter and coordinator for the Washington, DC Chapter. Her efforts saved Leak Street High School as a historical landmark; one of the last segregated schools before closure. Through her efforts honor was given and homage was paid to all past teachers as well as Alumni to the likes of never since. At an event in 1993, Jenny met her husband, James E. Small, of twenty-five years. She moved from New York to Stone Mountain, Georgia, became a librarian and retired from Sue I
