Obitlntl'lj Mr. Charlie Amos Rice Jr. was born on April1, 1959 in Atlanta, Ga. He departed this life on March 21, 2007. He was a member of New Grant Chapel A. M. E. Church for over 30 years. Charlie had a vision for a new and improve structral plan for East Point and tried to obtain his vision by dedicating a lifetime to the ivolement of the community. He was the Resedent Leader of East Washington Resident Advisroy Board, Co-founder of East Washington Association of Positive Males, Project Coardinaten Stand For Children Day, A New Grant Chapel A. M. E. Church trustee, male choir, male minstry, an outstanding usher, an outstanding Sunday school teacher, and in charge of the bulding and ground commisson. "My action speaks louder then my words" was one of the rule he lived his life by. Charlie was not afraid or ashamed to admit that he was not perfect but he always contiued to strive for perfection day by day. He elieved that the knowledge of one's 'history and environment could help improve the quality oflifestyle within the community. Mr. Charlie Amos Rice Jr. was predeceased by his mother Ms. Clara L. Rice, father Mr. Charlie Rice Sr., and sister Miss Rhonda C. Rice. Charlie Rice Jr. is survived by his wife Brenda Rice, three sons Torrez Rice, Holtrian Rice, Isaac Rice, daughter Fayquite' Rice, four brothers Ronald, Kelvin, Booney, Richard, four sister Beverly, Joycelyn, Cheryl, Jauquita, two aunts Elizabeth Gay, Rosa Scott, uncle Ray Lovette, nine grandchildren, the entire New Grant Chapel A.
