I'm home oh what a Great Family Reunion!!! OBITUARY For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand I have fought a goodfight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith: II Timothy 4:6,7 The first chapter of life for Gus Rawlings, Jr. began January 30, 1914 in Jones County. The final chapter ofthis life ended on Sunday, August 20, 2000. Mr. Rawlings was born to the parentage of the late Gus Rawlings, Sr. and the late Mamie Rawlings Mercer. He was a life long resident of Jones County. Mr. Rawlings was employed with the Jones County Lumber Mill, Jones County Board of Education, and the Jenkins Egg Farm. He was married to Louise B. Rawlings. Gus joined Ellis Chapel Baptist Church at an early life and attended until failing health. Two daughters, Martha R Andrews and Christine R. Thrasher preceded him in death. Those who are left to cherish his memory: wife, LOUISE B. RAWLINGS; four daughters, EUNICE DRISKEL (SAMUEL) of Gray, Georgia, MARY RAWLINGS, ALICE CURRY and VICKIE HILL all of Macon, Georgia; three sons, RANDY BROWN (DAPHNE) and JOHN BROWN (GLORIA} both of Macon, Georgia, and LARRY BROWN (ClAUDIA) of Flushing, New York. He also leaves to cherish his memory two sisters, CLEMMIE LEWIS and ROSSIE PALMORE of Cincinnati, Ohio; four sisters-in-law, SARA J. HARVEY, GUSSIE RAWLINGS, ESSIE RAWLINGS, and ELICIA L. BROWN; two brothers-in-law, JOHN HARVEY of Macon, PERCY PINKINSTON of Ohio; two sons-in-law, BOBBY THRASHER and JOSEPH ANDREWS. Forty-two grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more: neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the lamb which is in the midst ofthe throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains ofwaters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
