In 1927 Emma married Walter Rakestraw. To this union two children were born, Elizabeth and the late Charlie Albert Rakestraw. For 39 years, Emma was a dedicated domestic worker. She retired 20 years ago. Emma joined Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend J. W. Dunlap. She lived in Atlanta for many years. Emma was an excellent cook and could bake the best biscuits anyone ever tasted! Emma was a happy, fun loving and a very kind lady. She was friendly to all, however, she had no problem setting anyone straight ifthey needed it! Emma departed this life on Wednesday, June 27, 2001. She leaves to mourn her passing a devoted daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Jack Henderson of Covington; a grandson, Mr. Tony RaKestraw and a granddaughter, Miss Connie RaKestraw, both of Atlanta.
