HARDEMAN, OFFICIATING INTERMENT MIDDLE GEORGIA MEMORY GARDENS OBITUARY Mr. Charlie Powell was born August 4, 1913 in Washington County, Georgia to the late Pringle and Maggie Powell. He departed this life on February 14, 2001, at the Macon Manor in Macon, Georgia. At an early age, he had membership in the A.M.E. Church in Jefferson County, Georgia. After locating to Macon, Bibb County, Georgia, he joined the St. Paul A.M.E. Church, serving some 50+ years until his health failed. He was honored as being one of the Oldest Active Male Members of the St. Paul A.M.E. Church. Being a dedicated Servant, he served as President of the Lay Organization and the Sunday School for numerous years. He played an active role with the Sons of Allen, was a faithful choir member and a dedicated Bible study Scholar. He was also a member of the American Legion and a Mason. During the early years, he attended Jefferson County schools and graduated high school in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. He later joined the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. Having worked at the Robins Air Force Base for years, he later became employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a Mail carrier, where he worked until his retirement. On April 24, 1940, Charlie and Alzada Louise Lovett were married. To this union a son, Charles F. Powell, was born, who preceded him in death in 1987. The Legacy of his life is left to a loving and devoted wife, Alzada Louise Powell; his grandchildren, Charles Kevin Powell and Judith Louise Powell of Walnut, California; two brothers, Clarence (Irene) Powell of East Orange, New Jersey, and Ransom (Lillie Mae) Powell of Akron, Ohio; a sister, Marie Cromartie of Macon, Georgia; a brother-in-law, Jason P. (Ethel) Lovett of Romulus, Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Alice Royal of Trenton, New Jersey, and Mattie Lovett of Atlanta, Georgia; a godson, Curtis B. Roberts of Sylvania, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, greatnephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends. ORDER OF SERVICE Rev. Terence R.
